Hadith 17317

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبِي ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تَعَلَّمُوا كِتَابَ اللَّهِ ، وَتَعَاهَدُوهُ ، وَتَغَنُّوا بِهِ ، فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَهُوَ أَشَدُّ تَفَلُّتًا مِنَ الْمَخَاضِ فِي الْعُقُلِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Acquire the knowledge of the Book of Allah, hold firmly to it, and recite it with melody. By Him in Whose hand is my soul, this Qur'an departs even more swiftly than camels that are untied from their enclosures.
