حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَنَّ أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عَابِسٍ الْجُهَنِيَّ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ لَهُ : " يَا ابْنَ عَابِسٍ ، أَلَا أُخْبِرُكَ بِأَفْضَلِ مَا تَعَوَّذَ الْمُتَعَوِّذُونَ ؟ " قَالَ : قُلْتُ : بَلَى ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ و قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ هَاتَيْنِ السُّورَتَيْنِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me, "O Ibn Abas! Shall I not tell you about the most excellent words of seeking refuge, with which those who seek refuge do so?" I said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), why not?" He said, "They are two surahs: Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Naas."
