حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " رَأَى الْحُمْرَةَ قَدْ ظَهَرَتْ ، فَكَرِهَهَا ، فَلَمَّا مَاتَ رَافِعُ بْنُ خَدِيجٍ ، جَعَلُوا عَلَى سَرِيرِهِ قَطِيفَةً حَمْرَاءَ ، فَعَجِبَ النَّاسُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Rafi’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw the red color becoming predominant (being used excessively), he expressed dislike for it. The narrator says that when Hazrat Rafi’ (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away, people placed a red sheet on his bier, which greatly surprised the public.
