حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُضَرَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ الْهَادِ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام حَرَّمَ مَكَّةَ ، وَإِنِّي أُحَرِّمُ مَا بَيْنَ لَابَتَيْهَا " ، يُرِيدُ الْمَدِينَةَ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned Makkah Mukarramah and said that Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him) had declared it a sanctuary, and I declare all the area between the two boundaries of Madinah Munawwarah as a sanctuary.
