حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ، قَالَ : كَانَتْ لِمِقْدَامِ بْنِ مَعْدِي كَرِبَ جَارِيَةٌ تَبِيعُ اللَّبَنَ ، وَيَقْبِضُ الْمِقْدَامُ الثَّمَنَ ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ : سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ أَتَبِيعُ اللَّبَنَ وَتَقْبِضُ الثَّمَنَ ! فَقَالَ : نَعَمْ ، وَمَا بَأْسٌ بِذَلِكَ ، سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " لَيَأْتِيَنَّ عَلَى النَّاسِ زَمَانٌ لَا يَنْفَعُ فِيهِ إِلَّا الدِّينَارُ وَالدِّرْهَمُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Bakr bin Abi Maryam (may Allah be pleased with him) says that Sayyiduna Miqdad (may Allah be pleased with him) had a slave girl who used to sell milk, and the money that was obtained, Sayyiduna Miqdad (may Allah be pleased with him) would take. Someone said to him: Subhan Allah! She sells the milk and you take the money? He replied: Yes! So what is wrong in that? I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say that a time will come upon the people in which nothing will benefit except dinar and dirham.
