حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ ، حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، عَنْ أَرْطَاةَ بْنِ الْمُنْذِرِ ، عَنْ بَعْضِ أَشْيَاخِ الْجُنْدِ ، عَنِ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ مَعْدِي كَرِبَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَنْهَى عَنْ لَطْمِ خُدُودِ الدَّوَابِّ " ، وَقَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَدْ جَعَلَ لَكُمْ عِصِيًّا وَسِيَاطًا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Miqdam (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbidding striking animals on their cheeks, and he said that Allah Almighty has made these animals a support for you as sticks and whips.
