Hadith 17152

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ سَيْفٍ ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي رُهْمٍ ، عَنِ الْعِرْبَاضِ بْنِ سَارِيَةَ السُّلَمِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَدْعُو إِلَى السَّحُورِ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ : " هَلُمَّ إِلَى الْغِذَاءِ الْمُبَارَكِ " . ثُمَّ سَمِعْتُهُ ثُمَّ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ : " اللَّهُمَّ عَلِّمْ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْكِتَابَ ، وَالْحِسَابَ ، وَقِهِ الْعَذَابَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abbas bin Sariyah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) once invited me for suhoor in the month of Ramadan, saying: "Come for this blessed meal." Then I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "O Allah! Grant Muawiyah the knowledge of reckoning and accounting, and protect him from punishment."
