حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ هُوَ ابْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " أَيَعْجَزُ أَحَدُكُمْ أَنْ يَقْرَأَ ثُلُثَ الْقُرْآنِ فِي لَيْلَةٍ : اللَّهُ الْوَاحِدُ الصَّمَدُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Is any one of you unable to recite one third of the Qur'an in a single night? Surah Al-Ikhlas is equal to one third of the Qur'an."
