Iyad bin Ghatif says that once Sayyiduna Abu Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) fell ill. We went to visit him, and he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever spends his surplus in the way of Allah, its reward will be seven hundred times. Whoever spends on himself and his family, visits a sick person, or removes something harmful from the road, for every good deed there will be ten rewards. And fasting is a shield, provided that a person does not tear it. And whoever Allah tests physically, it becomes a cause of forgiveness for him."
