حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَوْهَبٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ تَمِيمًا الدَّارِيَّ ، يَقُولُ : سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَا السُّنَّةُ فِي الرَّجُلِ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكُفْرِ يُسْلِمُ عَلَى يَدَيْ الرَّجُلِ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ؟ فَقَالَ : " هُوَ أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِحَيَاتِهِ وَمَوْتِهِ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Tamim Dari (may Allah be pleased with him) that I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about the person at whose hand someone accepts Islam. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "He will be more entitled to him and closer to him than all other people in life and in death."
