حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ بَحْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُسْلِمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ يَزِيدَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي مَالِكٍ ، وَأَبَا الْأَزْهَرِ ، يُحَدِّثَانِ عَنْ وُضُوءِ مُعَاوِيَةَ ، قَالَ : يُرِيهِمْ وُضُوءَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، " فَتَوَضَّأَ ثَلَاثًا ثَلَاثًا ، وَغَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ بِغَيْرِ عَدَدٍ "
Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) once demonstrated to the people how the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed ablution, and he washed each part of the ablution three times, and washed his feet without counting the number of times.
