حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلَكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، وَعَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ : إِنَّكُمْ قَدْ أَحْدَثْتُمْ زِيَّ سُوءٍ ، " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الزُّورِ " ، وَقَالَ عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ : الزُّورُ ، قَالَ : وَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ بِعَصًا عَلَى رَأْسِهَا خِرْقَةٌ ، فَقَالَ : أَلَا وَهَذَا الزُّورُ ، قَالَ أَبُو عَامِرٍ : قَالَ قَتَادَةُ : هُوَ مَا يُكَثِّرُ بِهِ النِّسَاءُ أَشْعَارَهُنَّ مِنَ الْخِرَقِ
Saeed bin Musayyib says that once Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "You have invented a bad practice; the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade «زور»." Meanwhile, a man came whose hand held a staff and who had a woman's cloth on his head. Sayyiduna Amir Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "This is «زور»."
