(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا جُبَيْرُ بْنُ مُطْعِمٍ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يَقْسِمْ لِعَبْدِ شَمْسٍ ، وَلَا لِبَنِي نَوْفَلٍ مِنَ الْخُمْسِ شَيْئًا كَمَا كَانَ يَقْسِمُ لِبَنِي هَاشِمٍ ، وَبَنِي الْمُطَّلِبِ ، وَأَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ كَانَ يَقْسِمُ الْخُمْسَ نَحْوَ قَسْمِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ يُعْطِي قُرْبَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَمَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعْطِيهِمْ ، وَكَانَ عُمَرُ يُعْطِيهِمْ ، وَعُثْمَانُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ مِنْهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jubair bin Mut’im (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to allocate shares to Banu Hashim and Banu Muttalib, but he did not allocate any share from the khums for Banu Abd Shams and Banu Nawfal in this way. Sayyiduna Siddiq Akbar (Abu Bakr) also distributed the khums according to the method of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but he did not give to the close relatives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as he did. Then, after him, Sayyiduna Umar and Sayyiduna Uthman began to give to the close relatives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as well.
