It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jubair bin Mut’im (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Which part of the city is the worst? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I do not know. When Jibreel came, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him the same question. He also replied: I do not know, but I will ask my Lord. Saying this, he left. After a while, he returned and said: O Muhammad! You asked me this question and I said I do not know. Now I have asked my Lord, and the answer He gave is that the worst part of the city is its markets.
