It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa'b bin Jaththamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was in the state of Ihram, and I presented to him the meat of a wild donkey as a gift, but the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) returned it to me. When he saw signs of sadness on my face, he said that there is no reason for returning it except that we are in the state of Ihram. Sufyan says that this mentioned hadith of Sayyiduna Sa'b was narrated to us by Amr bin Dinar from Imam Zuhri, and until then we had not met Imam Zuhri. In this hadith, Amr had said that the children of the polytheists are from among them, but when Imam Zuhri came to us, I inquired from him about this hadith, and he did not say these words; rather, he said: they are better than their forefathers.
