(حديث مرفوع) قال عَبْد اللَّهِ بن أحمد : حَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ الصَّعْبَ بْنَ جَثَّامَةَ اللَّيْثِيَّ ، وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُخْبِرُ ، أَنَّهُ أَهْدَى لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِمَارَ وَحْشٍ بِالْأَبْوَاءِ ، أَوْ بِوَدَّانَ وَالنَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُحْرِمٌ ، فَرَدَّهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ الصَّعْبُ : فَلَمَّا عَرَفَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي وَجْهِي رَدَّهُ هَدِيَّتِي ، قَالَ : " لَيْسَ بِنَا رَدٌّ عَلَيْكَ وَلَكِنِّي حُرُمٌ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa'b bin Jathamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed by me while I was at the place of Abwa or Waddan. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was in the state of Ihram. I presented to him the meat of a wild donkey as a gift, but the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) returned it to me. When he saw signs of sadness on my face, he said that there is no reason for returning it except that we are in the state of Ihram.
