Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) was with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on a journey. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went away to relieve himself. Meanwhile, the time for prayer arrived, so the people established the prayer and Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him) stepped forward and led them in prayer. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also came from behind and performed one rak‘ah with the people following him, and after finishing the prayer, he said: "You did well."
