(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي مَنْصُورٌ ، عَنْ خَالِهِ مُسَافِعٍ ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ أُمِّ مَنْصُورٍ ، قَالَتْ : أَخْبَرَتْنِي امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ بَنِي سُلَيْمٍ وَلَدَتْ عَامَّةَ أَهْلِ دَارِنَا : أَرْسَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى عُثْمَانَ بْنِ طَلْحَةَ ، وَقَالَ مَرَّةً : إِنَّهَا سَأَلَتْ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ طَلْحَةَ لِمَ دَعَاكَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ ، قَالَ : " إِنِّي كُنْتُ رَأَيْتُ قَرْنَيْ الْكَبْشِ حِينَ دَخَلْتُ الْبَيْتَ ، فَنَسِيتُ أَنْ آمُرَكَ أَنْ تُخَمِّرَهُمَا ، فَخَمِّرْهُمَا ، فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَنْبَغِي أَنْ يَكُونَ فِي الْبَيْتِ شَيْءٌ يَشْغَلُ الْمُصَلِّيَ " ، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ : لَمْ تَزَلْ قَرْنَا الْكَبْشِ فِي الْبَيْتِ حَتَّى احْتَرَقَ الْبَيْتُ فَاحْتَرَقَا .
A woman from Banu Sulaym, who had acted as a midwife for most of the children born to Banu Shaybah, narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent for Uthman bin Talhah through a messenger, or that he himself asked Uthman why the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had called him. He replied that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When I entered the House of Allah (the Ka'bah), I saw two ram's horns there. I forgot to tell you to cover them, so now go and cover them, because it is not appropriate for anything to be in the House of Allah that distracts from prayer. The narrator says that both horns remained in the Ka'bah, and when the House of Allah caught fire, they were burned as well.
