It is narrated from Sayyiduna Kirdam bin Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) that he asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the ruling of a vow he had made in the days of ignorance to slaughter three camels. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "If you made that vow for an idol or a stone, then no (do not fulfill it), but if you made it for Allah, then fulfill it." Then he said: "O Messenger of Allah! The mother of this girl is obliged to walk on foot; can I walk on her behalf?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes!"
