It is narrated from Sayyiduna Rabi’ah bin Ka’b (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: Ask, I will grant you. I said: O Messenger of Allah! Give me some time to think. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You may think it over. I thought that the life of this world will pass away anyway, so I did not find anything better for myself than the Hereafter. Thus, I presented myself before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: What is your need? I said: O Messenger of Allah! Please intercede with your Lord for me so that He grants me a certificate of freedom from Hell. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Who told you this? I said: O Messenger of Allah! By Allah, no one explained this to me, but I myself reflected on my situation that the world is even taken away from the people of the world, so I thought to make a request for the Hereafter. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then help me by increasing your prostrations.
