(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ الدَّسْتُوَائِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ كَعْبٍ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ أَبِيتُ عِنْدَ بَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُعْطِيهِ وَضُوءَهُ ، فَأَسْمَعُهُ بَعْدَ هَوِيٍّ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ، يَقُولُ : " سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ " وَالْهَوِيِّ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ، يَقُولُ : " الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Rabi’ah bin Ka’b (may Allah be pleased with him) that I used to sleep in the blessed chamber of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) so that I could present water for ablution. I used to hear that whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) woke up for prayer, he would keep saying “Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘Alamin” for a long time, then he would keep saying “Subhanallahi Al-‘Azim wa bihamdihi” for a long time.
