(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي رَبِيعَةُ بْنُ كَعْبٍ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ أَبِيتُ عِنْدَ بَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُعْطِيهِ وَضُوءَهُ ، فَأَسْمَعُهُ بَعْدَ هَوِيٍّ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ، يَقُولُ : " سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ " ، وَأَسْمَعُهُ بَعْدَ هَوِيٍّ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ، يَقُولُ : " الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Rabi’ah bin Ka’b, may Allah be pleased with him, that I used to sleep in the blessed chamber of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, so that I could present water for ablution. I used to hear that whenever the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, woke up for prayer, he would keep saying “Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘Alamin” for a long time, then he would keep saying “Subhanallahi Al-‘Azim wa bihamdih” for a long time.
