(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ غَيْلَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْمُفَضَّلُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ مَوْلَى سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، فَقَالَ : " أَنْتُمْ أَهْلُ بَدْوِنَا ، وَنَحْنُ أَهْلُ حَضَرِكُمْ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I presented myself before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You people are our countryside and we are your city.
