Hadith 16530

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي إِيَاسُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَى رَجُلًا يَأْكُلُ بِشِمَالِهِ ، فَقَالَ : " كُلْ بِيَمِينِكَ " قَالَ : لَا أَسْتَطِيعُ ، قَالَ : " لَا اسْتَطَعْتَ " ، قَالَ : فَمَا وَصَلَتْ إِلَى فِيهِ بَعْدُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man eating with his left hand, so he said: "Eat with your right hand." He replied, "I am not able to eat with my right hand." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May you not be able to," so after that, his right hand could not reach his mouth.
