Amr bin Yahya narrates from his father that his grandfather asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zaid bin Asim, who was a companion, "Can you show me how the Prophet (peace be upon him) performed ablution?" He replied, "Yes!" Then he called for water for ablution, poured it on his hand, washed it, rinsed his mouth and nose three times each, washed his face three times, washed his hands up to the elbows twice, wiped his head with both hands moving them forward and backward, started wiping from the front part of the head and took his hands to the nape, then brought them back to the place where he started wiping, then washed his feet and said, "I saw the Prophet (peace be upon him) performing ablution in this manner."
