(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، عَنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنِ صَعْبِ بْنِ جَثَّامَةَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : مَرَّ بِي وَأَنَا بِالْأَبْوَاءِ أَوْ بِوَدَّانَ ، فَأَهْدَيْتُ لَهُ حِمَارَ وَحْشٍ ، فَرَدَّهُ عَلَيَّ ، فَلَمَّا رَأَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْكَرَاهِيَةَ فِي وَجْهِي ، قَالَ : " إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ بِنَا رَدٌّ عَلَيْكَ ، وَلَكِنَّا حُرُمٌ " ، قُلْتُ لِابْنِ شِهَابٍ الْحِمَارُ عَقِيرٌ ؟ ، قَالَ : لَا أَدْرِي .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa'b bin Jathamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed by me while I was at the place of Abwa or Waddan. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was in the state of Ihram. I presented to him as a gift the meat of a wild donkey, but the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) returned it to me. When he saw signs of sadness on my face, he said: "There is no reason for returning it except that we are in the state of Ihram."
