(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتِ بْنِ الضَّحَّاكِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى مِلَّةٍ سِوَى الْإِسْلَامِ كَاذِبًا ، فَهُوَ كَمَا قَالَ ، وَلَيْسَ عَلَى رَجُلٍ نَذْرٌ فِيمَا لَا يَمْلِكُ ، وَمَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ بِشَيْءٍ فِي الدُّنْيَا عُذِّبَ بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Thabit bin Dhahak that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Whoever swears a false oath by any religion other than Islam, he will be considered as he has said. And whoever strikes someone in this world with something, he will be punished with the same thing in the Hereafter. And there is no vow upon a Muslim man for something that is beyond his ability.
