(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ هِشَامُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ جَاءَتْ الْأَنْصَارُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ ، فَقَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَصَابَنَا قَرْحٌ وَجَهْدٌ ، فَكَيْفَ تَأْمُرُنَا ؟ ، قَالَ : " احْفِرُوا ، وَأَوْسِعُوا ، وَاجْعَلُوا الرَّجُلَيْنِ وَالثَّلَاثَةَ فِي الْقَبْرِ " ، قَالُوا : فَأَيُّهُمْ نُقَدِّمُ ؟ ، قَالَ : " أَكْثَرَهُمْ قُرْآنًا " ، قَالَ : فَقُدِّمَ أَبِي عَامِرٌ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَجُلٍ أَوْ اثْنَيْنِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hisham bin ‘Amir that on the day of the Battle of Uhud, the Ansar came to the Prophet’s court and said: O Messenger of Allah! The people have suffered great wounds and difficulties. What do you command us now? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Dig the graves wide and bury two or three men in one grave. The people asked: O Messenger of Allah! Whom should we place first? He said: The one who knows more of the Qur’an. Thus, my father ‘Amir was placed before one or two men.
