(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ، قَالَ : شَكَوْا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْقَرْحَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ ، وَقَالُوا : كَيْفَ تَأْمُرُ بِقَتْلَانَا ؟ ، قَالَ : " احْفِرُوا ، وَأَوْسِعُوا ، وَأَحْسِنُوا وَادْفِنُوا فِي الْقَبْرِ الِاثْنَيْنِ وَالثَّلَاثَةَ ، وَقَدِّمُوا أَكْثَرَهُمْ قُرْآنًا " قَالَ هِشَامٌ : فَقُدِّمَ أَبِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْ اثْنَيْنِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hisham bin ‘Amir that you people go to those individuals who do not know the ahadith of the Prophet (ﷺ) better than me. On the day of the Battle of Uhud, my father was martyred. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Dig the graves wide and bury two or three people in one grave. Place the one who knows more of the Qur’an first. And since my father knew more of the Qur’an, he was placed first.
