(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا الْأَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ثُوَيْرٌ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ يَقُولُ : هَذَا يَوْمُ عَاشُورَاءَ ، فَصُومُوا ، فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " صُومُوهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Zubair that today is the day of Ashura, so observe its fast because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed to fast on this day.
