(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا نَافِعٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ ، فَقَالَ ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ فَمَا كَانَ عُمَرُ " يَسْمَعُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعْدَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ حَتَّى يَسْتَفْهِمَهُ يَعْنِي قَوْلَهُ تَعَالَى لا تَرْفَعُوا أَصْوَاتَكُمْ فَوْقَ صَوْتِ النَّبِيِّ سورة الحجرات آية 2 " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair says that after the revelation of the Quranic verse "Do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet (ﷺ)", whenever Sayyiduna Umar spoke to the Prophet (ﷺ), he would speak in such a low voice that the Prophet (ﷺ) would have to ask him to repeat himself.
