(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ بُشَيْرِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ بَيْعِ التَّمْرِ بِالتَّمْرِ ، وَرَخَّصَ فِي الْعَرَايَا أَنْ تُشْتَرَى بِخَرْصِهَا يَأْكُلُهَا أَهْلُهَا رُطَبًا " . قَالَ سُفْيَانُ : قَالَ لِي يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَمَا عِلْمُ أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ بِالْعَرَايَا ؟ ، قُلْتُ : أَخْبَرَهُمْ عَطَاءٌ ، سَمِعَهُ مِنْ جَابِرٍ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Abi Hathmah that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of ripe fruit in exchange for fruit still on the tree, and permitted the purchase of ‘Araya by estimation so that its owner’s family could also eat fresh dates.
