(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ زَيْنَبَ امْرَأَةِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِلنِّسَاءِ : " تَصَدَّقْنَ وَلَوْ مِنْ حُلِيِّكُنَّ " . قَالَتْ : فَكَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ خَفِيفَ ذَاتِ الْيَدِ , فَقَالَتْ لَهُ : أَيَسَعُنِي أَنْ أَضَعَ صَدَقَتِي فِيكَ وَفِي بَنِي أَخِي ، أَوْ بَنِي أَخٍ لِي يَتَامَى ؟ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ : سَلِي عَنْ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَتْ : فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَإِذَا عَلَى بَابِهِ امْرَأَةٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ ، يُقَالُ لَهَا : زَيْنَبُ ، تَسْأَلُ عَمَّا أَسْأَلُ عَنْهُ ، فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا بِلَالٌ ، فَقُلْنَا : انْطَلِقْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَسَلْهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ ، وَلَا تُخْبِرْ مَنْ نَحْنُ , فَانْطَلَقَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " مَنْ هُمَا ؟ " , فَقَالَ : زَيْنَبُ , فَقَالَ : " أَيُّ الزَّيَانِبِ ؟ " , فَقَالَ : زَيْنَبُ امْرَأَةُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، وَزَيْنَبُ الْأَنْصَارِيَّةُ ، فَقَالَ : " نَعَمْ ، لَهُمَا أَجْرَانِ : أَجْرُ الْقَرَابَةِ ، وَأَجْرُ الصَّدَقَةِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyidah Zainab that once the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Give charity, even if it is from your jewelry. She says that her husband, Abdullah bin Mas'ud, was light-handed and financially weak. I said to him, "Is it possible that I give charity to you and to my orphan nephews?" He said, "Ask the Prophet (peace be upon him)." So I went to the Prophet (peace be upon him), and at the door of his house, there was another Ansari woman whose name was also Zainab, who had come to ask the same question from the Prophet (peace be upon him). Sayyiduna Bilal came out, so we said to him, "Go and ask the Prophet (peace be upon him) about this issue, and do not tell him who we are." So he went to the Prophet (peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked, "Who are those two?" He replied that both are named Zainab. The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked, "Which Zainab?" He replied, "One is the wife of Abdullah bin Mas'ud and the other is Zainab Ansariyyah." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Yes, both will receive reward, and a double reward—one reward for kinship and one for giving charity."
