(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ بَحْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ جَنَاحٍ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ بْنِ حَلْبَسٍ ، عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " أَلَا إِنَّ فُلَانَ بْنَ فُلَانٍ فِي ذِمَّتِكَ وَحَبْلِ جِوَارِكَ ، فَقِهِ فِتْنَةَ الْقَبْرِ ، وَعَذَابَ النَّارِ ، أَنْتَ أَهْلُ الْوَفَاءِ وَالْحَقِّ ، اللَّهُمَّ فَاغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ ، فَإِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Wathilah that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: O Allah, so-and-so son of so-and-so is in Your protection and in the rope of Your neighborhood, so protect him from the trial of the grave and the punishment of Hellfire. You are the One who fulfills promises. O Allah, forgive him, have mercy on him. You are the Forgiving and the Merciful.
