(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا هَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْخُشَنِيُّ ، عَنْ بِشْرِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ وَاثِلَةُ بْنُ الْأَسْقَعِ وَنَحْنُ نَبْنِي مَسْجِدَنَا ، قَالَ : فَوَقَفَ عَلَيْنَا ، فَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " مَنْ بَنَى مَسْجِدًا يُصَلَّى فِيهِ ، بَنَى اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ أَفْضَلَ مِنْهُ " . قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ : وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ هَيْثَمِ بْنِ خَارِجَةَ .
Bishr bin Hayan says that once Sayyiduna Wathilah bin Asqa’ came to us while we were constructing our mosque. He came to us, greeted us with salam, and said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever builds a mosque in which prayers are offered, Allah will build for him a house better than it in Paradise.
