Hadith 15933

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ زُرْعَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جَرْهَدٍ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ جَرْهَدٍ ، قَالَ : مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعَلَيَّ بُرْدَةٌ وَقَدْ انْكَشَفَتْ فَخِذِي ، قَالَ : " غَطِّ فَإِنَّ الْفَخْذَ عَوْرَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarid that once he was sitting with his thigh uncovered. The Prophet (ﷺ) passed by and the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Cover it, for the thigh is 'awrah (a part that must be covered).
