(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مُؤَمَّلُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، وَعَفَّانُ الْمَعْنَى , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ ، عَنْ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ , أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُتِيَ بِقَصْعَةٍ مِنْ ثَرِيدٍ ، فَأَكَلَ ، فَفَضَلَ مِنْهُ فَضْلَةٌ ، فَقَالَ : " يَدْخُلُ مِنْ هَذَا الْفَجِّ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ ، يَأْكُلُ هَذِهِ الْفَضْلَةَ " ، قَالَ سَعْدٌ : وَقَدْ كُنْتُ تَرَكْتُ أَخِي عُمَيْرَ بْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ يَتَهَيَّأُ ، لِأَنْ يَأْتِيَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَطَمِعْتُ أَنْ يَكُونَ هُوَ ، فَجَاءَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ فَأَكَلَهَا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a bowl of tharid was brought to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ate from the food in it, and some of it was left over. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "From this corridor, a man of Paradise will now come who will eat this leftover food." Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I had left my brother Umair making ablution, and I thought in my heart that Umair would come from here. But Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Salam (may Allah be pleased with him) came from there and he ate that food.
