(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُبَارَكٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ وَهُوَ أَبُو شُجَاعٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ الْحَارِثَ بْنَ يَزِيدَ الْحَضْرَمِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ , عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ ، عَنْ نَاشِرَةَ بْنِ سُمَيٍّ الْيَزَنِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ يَقُولُ فِي يَوْمِ الْجَابِيَةِ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ النَّاسَ : إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ جَعَلَنِي خَازِنًا لِهَذَا الْمَالِ ، وَقَاسِمَهُ لَهُ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : بَلْ اللَّهُ يَقْسِمُهُ ، وَأَنَا بَادِئٌ بِأَهْلِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ أَشْرَفِهِمْ , فَفَرَضَ لِأَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَشْرَةَ آلَافٍ إِلَّا جُوَيْرِيَةَ وَصَفِيَّةَ ومَيْمُونَةَ ، فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ " يَعْدِلُ بَيْنَنَا " ، فَعَدَلَ بَيْنَهُنَّ عُمَرُ , ثُمَّ قَالَ : إِنِّي بَادِئٌ بِأَصْحَابِي الْمُهَاجِرِينَ الْأَوَّلِينَ ، فَإِنَّا أُخْرِجْنَا مِنْ دِيَارِنَا ظُلْمًا وَعُدْوَانًا ، ثُمَّ أَشْرَفِهِمْ ، فَفَرَضَ لِأَصْحَابِ بَدْرٍ مِنْهُمْ خَمْسَةَ آلَافٍ ، وَلِمَنْ كَانَ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ أَرْبَعَةَ آلَافٍ ، وَلِمَنْ شَهِدَ أُحُدًا ثَلَاثَةَ آلَافٍ ، قَالَ : وَمَنْ أَسْرَعَ فِي الْهِجْرَةِ أَسْرَعَ بِهِ الْعَطَاءُ ، وَمَنْ أَبْطَأَ فِي الْهِجْرَةِ أَبْطَأَ بِهِ الْعَطَاءُ ، فَلَا يَلُومَنَّ رَجُلٌ إِلَّا مُنَاخَ رَاحِلَتِهِ , وَإِنِّي أَعْتَذِرُ إِلَيْكُمْ مِنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ إِنِّي أَمَرْتُهُ أَنْ يَحْبِسَ هَذَا الْمَالَ عَلَى ضَعَفَةِ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ ، فَأَعْطَاه ذَا الْبَأْسِ ، وَذَا الشَّرَفِ ، وَذَا اللَّسَانَةِ ، فَنَزَعْتُهُ ، وَأَمَّرْتُ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ بْنَ الْجَرَّاحِ , فَقَالَ أَبُو عَمْرِو بْنُ حَفْصِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ : وَاللَّهِ مَا أَعْذَرْتَ يَا عُمَرُ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ، لَقَدْ نَزَعْتَ عَامِلًا اسْتَعْمَلَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَغَمَدْتَ سَيْفًا سَلَّهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَوَضَعْتَ لِوَاءً نَصَبَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَلَقَدْ قَطَعْتَ الرَّحِمَ ، وَحَسَدْتَ ابْنَ الْعَمِّ , فَقَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ : إِنَّكَ قَرِيبُ الْقَرَابَةِ ، حَدِيثُ السِّنِّ ، مُغْضَبٌ مِنَ ابْنِ عَمِّكَ .
Nashirah says that I heard Umar delivering a sermon to the people at Jabiyah, saying: Allah has made me only a treasurer and distributor of wealth. Then he said: Rather, it is Allah who distributes it, but I will begin with the family of the Prophet (peace be upon him), then gradually give to the honored ones. Thus, he fixed ten thousand dirhams each for all the wives of the Prophet (peace be upon him) except for Juwayriya, Safiyyah, and Maymunah. When Aisha found out, she said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to act justly among all of us. So Umar made her share equal as well. Then he said: Among the companions, I will begin with my earliest Muhajir companions, because we were unjustly expelled from our homeland, then among them, those who are more honored. Thus, he fixed five thousand dirhams each for the people of Badr among them, and four thousand dirhams each for the Ansari companions who participated in the Battle of Badr, and three thousand each for those who participated in Uhud. He said: Whoever hastened in migration, I will hasten in giving to him, and whoever was slow in migration, I will be slow in giving to him. So if anyone complains, let him only blame his own mount. And I apologize to you regarding Khalid bin Walid. In fact, I had instructed him to spend this wealth only on the weak Muhajirun, but he began giving this wealth to warriors, honored, and eloquent people. Therefore, I took this position from him and gave it to Abu Ubaidah bin Jarrah. Upon this, Abu Amr bin Hafs bin Mughira said: O Umar, by Allah, I do not accept your excuse. You have dismissed a governor whom the Prophet (peace be upon him) had appointed. You have sheathed a sword which the Prophet (peace be upon him) had unsheathed. You have lowered a banner which the Prophet (peace be upon him) had raised. You have severed ties of kinship and envied your cousin. Umar, after hearing all this, said: You have a closer relationship with him, and besides, you are young and more angry regarding your cousin.
