(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزُ بْنُ أَسَدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ أَشْعَثُ ، سَيِّئُ الْهَيْئَةِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَمَا لَكَ مَالٌ ؟ " , قَالَ : مِنْ كُلِّ الْمَالِ قَدْ آتَانِي اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ , قَالَ : " فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِذَا أَنْعَمَ عَلَى عَبْدٍ نِعْمَةً ، أَحَبَّ أَنْ تُرَى عَلَيْهِ " .
Sayyiduna Malik bin Marwi narrates that once the Prophet (peace be upon him) saw me in a disheveled state and asked: Do you have any wealth? I replied: Yes. The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked: What kind of wealth do you have? I replied: Allah has granted me all kinds of wealth, such as goats and camels, etc. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Then the effects of Allah’s blessings and honor should be visible on you.
