(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ بَحْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ابْنِ أَخِي ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ ، عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اهْجُوا بِالشِّعْرِ ، إِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ يُجَاهِدُ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ ، وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِهِ كَأَنَّمَا يَنْضَحُوهُمْ بِالنَّبْلِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Denounce the polytheists through poetry, for a Muslim strives with both his life and his wealth. By Him in Whose hand is my soul, the poetry you recite about the polytheists is as if you are showering them with arrows.
