(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا ذِئْبَانِ جَائِعَانِ أُرْسِلَا فِي غَنَمٍ ، بِأَفْسَدَ لَهَا مِنْ حِرْصِ الْمَرْءِ عَلَى الْمَالِ ، وَالشَّرَفِ لِدِينِهِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: If two hungry wolves are let loose among a flock of sheep, they will not cause as much mischief as the greed for wealth and status causes in a man's religion.
