(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَامِرُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي يُونُسُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ تَابَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى عَلَيْهِ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَنْخَلِعُ مِنْ مَالِي صَدَقَةً إِلَى اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ , فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَمْسِكْ عَلَيْكَ بَعْضَ مَالِكَ ، فَإِنَّهُ خَيْرٌ لَكَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that when Allah accepted his repentance, he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: Allah has saved me only through the blessing of truthfulness, so now as part of my repentance, I will never lie again, and I dedicate all my wealth for Allah and His Messenger. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It would be better if you keep some of it for yourself. He said: Then I will keep my share from Khaybar for myself.
