(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ ، أَنَّ مَرْوَانَ بْنَ الْحَكَمِ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ يَغُوثَ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّ أُبَيَّ بْنَ كَعْبٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مِنَ الشِّعْرِ حِكْمَةٌ " . وَكَانَ بَشِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، أَنَّ كَعْبَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ كَانَ يُحَدِّثُ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَكَأَنَّمَا تَنْضَحُونَهُمْ بِالنَّبْلِ فِيمَا تَقُولُونَ لَهُمْ مِنَ الشِّعْرِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Some poetry is based on wisdom. It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: By Him in Whose hand is my soul, the poetry you recite about the polytheists is as if you are showering them with arrows.
