(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ بَحْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ ، عَنْ زَكَرِيَّا ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ حَدَّثَهُ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَا ذِئْبَانِ جَائِعَانِ أُرْسِلَا فِي غَنَمٍ أَفْسَدَ لَهَا مِنْ حِرْصِ الْمَرْءِ عَلَى الْمَالِ ، وَالشَّرَفِ لِدِينِهِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Two hungry wolves if let loose among a flock of sheep would not cause as much mischief as the greed for wealth and status causes in a man's heart."
