It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he was demanding two uqiyah of silver from a person when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed by. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gestured to me and said, "Forgive half of his debt." I said, "Very well, O Messenger of Allah!" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) then said to the other person, "Now pay the remaining due right."
