(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ الْأَذَانُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُمَا أذانان ، حَتَّى كَانَ زَمَنُ عُثْمَانَ ، فَكَثُرَ النَّاسُ ، فَأَمَرَ بِالْأَذَانِ الْأَوَّلِ بِالزَّوْرَاءِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa’ib bin Yazid that during the blessed times of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the two Shaykhs, there was only one adhan, until the era of Sayyiduna Uthman came and the people increased, so he ordered the first adhan to be given at the place of Zawra.
