(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ , وَأَبُو شِهَابٍ , عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ابْنِ أُخْتِ نَمِرٍ ، قَالَ : " مَا كَانَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَّا مُؤَذِّنٌ وَاحِدٌ , يُؤَذِّنُ إِذَا قَعَدَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ ، وَيُقِيمُ إِذَا نَزَلَ ، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ كَذَلِكَ وَعُمَرُ كَذَلِكَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُمَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa’ib bin Yazid that during the blessed era of the Prophet (ﷺ), there was only one muezzin appointed, who would give the adhan after the Prophet (ﷺ) sat on the pulpit, and after descending from the pulpit, he would also say the iqamah. This continued during the time of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr as-Siddiq and Sayyiduna Umar as well.
