(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي خُبَيْبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ، قَال : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ مَسْعُودِ بْنِ نِيَارٍ , قَالَ : جَاءَ سَهْلُ بْنُ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ إِلَى مَجْلِسِنَا ، فَحَدَّثَ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا خَرَصْتُمْ ، فَجُدُّوا وَدَعُوا ، دَعُوا الثُّلُثَ ، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَجُدُّوا وَتَدَعُوا ، فَدَعُوا الرُّبُعَ " .
Abdur Rahman bin Mas’ud says that once Sayyiduna Sahl bin Abi Hathmah came to our gathering and narrated this hadith: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: When you harvest fruit, take some and leave some; leave about one third, and if you cannot do that, then leave one fourth.
