(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ سَلَّامٍ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَاشِدٍ الْحُبْرَانِيِّ , عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ شِبْلٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " اقْرَءُوا الْقُرْآنَ ، وَلَا تَغْلُوا فِيهِ ، وَلَا تَجْفُوا عَنْهُ ، وَلَا تَأْكُلُوا بِهِ ، وَلَا تَسْتَكْثِرُوا بِهِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: Recite the Qur'an, but do not be excessive in it, do not be harsh with it, do not make it a means of livelihood, and do not seek to increase your wealth and riches through it.
