(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو مَرْحُومٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ مُعَاذِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ تَرَكَ اللِّبَاسَ وَهُوَ يَقْدِرُ عَلَيْهِ تَوَاضُعًا لِلَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى ، دَعَاهُ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَلَى رُءُوسِ الْخَلَائِقِ , حَتَّى يُخَيِّرَهُ فِي حُلَلِ الْإِيمَانِ أَيَّهَا شَاءَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'adh that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever, out of humility, chooses to wear simple clothes despite having the ability to wear good clothes, Allah will call him before all of creation on the Day of Resurrection and give him the choice to select whichever garment of faith he wishes.
